Introducing Washington’s 2012 LEAF interns from left to right, Gregory Smith, Brandon Gutierrez, Vincent Ly and Alex Mundt.
These interns can seriously dance! Brandon, 17, busts a move at downtown Tacoma’s graffiti park. Brandon wants to someday be an environmental engineer (how many environmental engineers can do this, we ask you?!)
Greg wants to become a college professor to “help teach people about the earth and the environment” He’ll get to see some real-life salmon during his LEAF internship on the Washington coast.
Vincent is so excited about his LEAF internship, he’s jumping up and down. He says, “I am expecting to learn more about the world and how to conserve nature… through hands-on learning and experiences with the outdoors.”
Brandon, Vincent and Greg strike a pose in downtown Tacoma.
Let us take a moment to observe the awesome wolf sweatshirt Vincent is sporting. He is one cool guy. He hopes to one day be an oceanographer. He says: “I love the water and the mysteries in it. I want to help the environment get better in any way I can”
Brandon, Greg and Vincent explore downtown docks, framed by the Tacoma skyline. The interns will experience a very different backdrop this summer at Washington’s Ellsworth Creek and Moses Coulee Preserves.
