2012 Earth Day at the Seattle Center
A great time was had by all who attended our Earth Day event
Live music, kids planting seeds and getting their faces painted and a prize wheel made the Conservancy’s Picnic for the Planet at Seattle Center an Earth Day celebration to remember.
Kids got to decorate paper pots, plant pea seeds in them and then take them home to watch them grow. Mayor Mike McGinn stopped by to wish everyone a happy Earth Day. Hundreds of people spun the prize wheel and took away free water bottles, T-shirts and frisbees.
Check out the fun! Watch this 4-minute video with music, cute kids and more. Or check out a slideshow of pictures from the event.
We are very grateful to Seattle Center for hosting the Earth Day picnic as part of their Sustainable Futures event, which is one component of the Center's Next 50 anniversary celebration.
We want to thank Kore Ionz and The Local Strangers for wonderful live music and great energy. It wouldn't have been the same without them!
And our heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Earth Day with family and friends.
See you next year!
