Nature Hike, 2pm-5pm
Encompassing 1,444 acres the North Pawlet Hills Natural Area is one of the most distinctive ridge lines in Rutland County. And a rarity in our lived in landscape, the natural area now protects most of a 2,000 acre forested area unfragmented by roads or development. Join us to explore the dry oak woodlands, the late spring wildflowers and the natural history of this picturesque corner of Vermont. The hike, from 2pm to 5pm, will be led by Jon Binhammer, Director of Land Protection, followed by a celebration at a camp on the property.
Celebration, 5pm-6:30pm
Join us for the hike, for the celebration, or for both if time allows. We'll raise a glass to toast the conservation of these lands and enjoy light refreshments on the west facing deck. You'll have time to take a stroll along the woods roads, and to hear more from Conservancy staff about ongoing management of the ecologically significant North Pawlet Hills Natural Area.
