Chickering Bog Walk (Full!)

September 28, 2013 - October 09, 2013
10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Chickering Bog, East Montpelier | Show Directions

We're sorry but the field trip is full and we have a waiting list at this time. Please consider joining us for another trip!

Join former State Director, Bob Klein and Critical Lands Manager, Lynn McNamara, for an early autumn walk through Chickering Bog, which hosts a highly diverse plant community that includes sundews, pitcher plants, cotton grass, blue flag irises, cranberries, blueberries, and several species of orchids. Northern white cedar, larch, and white pine also grow on the open bog mat. Frogs, wood ducks, crows, nuthatches, pileated woodpeckers, and the tracks of mammals like bear, deer, and snowshoe hare have been spotted at Chickering Bog.
