Why do you support The Nature Conservancy?
Don and Mary:
We gave our first donation when Don discovered The Nature Conservancy had protected Silver Creek in Idaho. As our interests grew -- protecting large landscapes for grizzly bears in Montana and photographing migratory birds at the Great Salt Lake -- so too did our support. We donate to The Nature Conservancy because it seems to be the best way for us to help preserve critical lands and waters for at-risk species. We worry about where the grizzly bear can still find enough room and food to thrive in the lower 48 states, where trout can still swim in crystal clear waters, where the sage grouse can find a place to dance and the ruffed grouse a place to drum.
Over the years we have acquired a great appreciation and respect for the Conservancy's staff in Utah and Montana, who take on the challenges of addressing our concerns. For us, it is the people we trust and the natural treasures they work to protect that motivate us to give.
