The Nature Conservancy's Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve has always been an ideal place for Scouts of all ages. With an award-winning visitor center and over a mile of boardwalk, the Preserve provides opportunities to explore, observe, and interact with nature, while also fulfilling requirements for badges. Located just 35 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City in Layton, the Preserve is also an ideal site for Troop meetings and service projects.
This summer, the Conservancy is pleased to announce even more ways Scouts can connect with nature at the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve:
Scout Open House
The Conservancy will conduct several open houses during the summer of 2013. Check back this spring for more details.

Self-Guided Tours
Troops are always welcome to visit the Preserve on their own, where they can complete requirements for badges or earn the NEW Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve Patch (download the self-guided Patch Activity Sheet). Troop Service Projects & Eagle Scout Projects
At over 4,400 acres, the Preserve has plenty of opportunities for nature-based service projects. Please contact Chris Brown at 801-791-1661 or christopher.brown@tnc.org for more information, or to propose your project!
