The Black Hills National Forest offers spectacular views of ancient limestone cliffs, hillsides covered with pines and aspens and clear blue lakes. The forest is open to the public for outdoor recreation including hiking, birding, bicycling, camping, climbing, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing and show shoeing. Hundreds of acres within the national forest were conserved by the Conservancy. Learn more
At 150 miles, Jewel Cave is the second longest cave in the world. It is filled with calcite crystals and other wonders that make up the "jewels" of Jewel Cave National Monument. To protect the cave's features, the Conservancy acquired more than 350 acres near the entrance. The property has since been transferred to the U.S. Forest Service. Learn more
