Overview: The Nature Conservancy is offering a series of free hikes at the Forest Pools Preserve @ Kings Gap (Carlisle, PA in Cumberland County) so that others can learn about vernal pools and enjoy seeing the incredible amphibian creatures that inhabit them as they congregate after their subterranean winter slumber.
Meeting Location: Pine Plantation Parking Lot of Kings Gap State Park, please RSVP for information and directions.
What to bring/how to prepare: Wear sturdy boots that you don’t mind getting wet and bring your flashlight and/or headlamp and join us as we hike to vernal pools on the preserve to discover these water-loving wonders.
