Russ Hoeflich, Vice President and State Director

“I love my work because with the help of all of you, I get the opportunity to work with an amazing team of staff and board members to find solutions that balance the needs of people and nature and, in the process, have a tangible and enduring impact.”

As State Director of The Nature Conservancy in Oregon—a post he’s held for over 25 years—Russ is responsible for the development, administration and implementation of our strategic plan to protect and maintain the state's unique natural areas.

Russ earned his B.A. in Biology and B.S. in Environmental Science at Southampton College, and his master’s degree in Environmental Management from Long Island University. Prior to coming to Oregon, Russ was director of The Nature Conservancy’s South Fork-Shelter Island chapter in New York.
