Young Professionals Group: Who We Are

The Nature Conservancy’s Young Professionals Group brings together a cross-section of the city’s brightest men and women who share a love of nature, a concern for the environment and a belief that hope and action are indispensable to make a difference.

Since 2005, the Young Professionals have formed a dedicated community driven to educate and inspire while supporting The Nature Conservancy’s work. Today the YPG is over 1,500 members strong. From medicine and law to finance, real estate, journalism, fashion and entertainment, the group represents the vast diversity of work, life and passion in New York City.

The Young Professionals Group strives to ensure that the next generation of New Yorkers learn about and participate in conservation activities at a local, regional and global level. By hosting events throughout the year, the YPG provides opportunities to learn more about the work of the Conservancy and its partners, meet other like-minded individuals and find ways to make a difference every day.

No Challenge Too Big

Since its inception, the Young Professionals Group has raised more than $750,000 to support The Nature Conservancy’s conservation activities in New York and around the world.

How We Work

The Young Professionals Group is directed by the Young Professionals Board with guidance from staff in the Conservancy’s New York City Office. The current board sits 12 members and is co-chaired by James Riviezzo and Jin Jin Huang. The board works to align the Young Professionals Group with the Conservancy’s larger goals while facilitating the ongoing growth and success of the group.

Along with the Board, the YPG is directed by a number of committees. These are open to all YPG members and serve as an opportunity to have a direct impact on the direction and activities of the group.
