New York Business Champions

New York Business Champions for Nature includes companies in the New York area who distinguish themselves as champions of the environment through their annual philanthropic support of the Conservancy’s work.

The majority of people in the United States—and the world—live in urban areas. Cities need nature to survive and thrive, and nature needs cities: over the long term, our lands and waters will be protected only with the support of people in cities.
The Nature Conservancy in New York is an incubator of innovation, building replicable models and partnerships that impact conservation locally, nationally and globally. The Nature Conservancy has:

  • Conserved 700,000 ecologically important acres across the state;
  • Pioneered nature-based coastal resilience programs, such as shellfish restoration, to conserve coastlines against storm surges and sea-level rise;
  • Safeguarded the water supply of 12 million people through science-based water flow management in the Delaware River Basin.

As a member of Business Champions, your company can demonstrate its alignment with the values of the Conservancy and receive unique opportunities for employees to get involved with The Nature Conservancy—learning about our work, meeting our leaders and recognizing your company’s commitment to nature.
