Earth Day 2014: Explore. Volunteer. Give.

Connect with Nature this Earth Day with The Nature Conservancy in New York!

Ways to Connect

Earth Day New York at Union Square
Tuesday, April 22 | New York, NY
We’ll be at this free, outdoor event from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Stop by and say hi!

Urban Nature Hike with EcoArtTech
Saturday, April 26, 1 p.m. | Rochester, NY
Join University of Rochester professors Leila Nadir and Cary Peppermint for an urban wilderness excursion guided by their Indeterminate Hikes+ mobile media app.

We’ll be there from 11am – 7pm, encouraging New Yorkers to get out and enjoy nature, participate in our #NatureSelfie photo project, and spreading the word about the work we do to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. - See more at:

Mashomack Preserve
Saturday, April 19, 1 - 3 p.m. | Shelter Island, NY
Celebrate Earth Day by grabbing a pair of work gloves and doing some hands-on work at Mashomack! We hope to wood chip areas of our most-used trails to help prevent erosion and soil compaction. Come help protect tree roots and reduce runoff. Community service hours documentation available. No fee.

Eldridge Wilderness Preserve
Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. | Ithaca, NY
In honor of Earth Day, The Nature Conservancy will host a work day at Eldridge Wilderness that's designed to get this newly revitalized preserve ready for a new season. We will remove big roots and trail debris, construct and strengthen boardwalks and continue to push back invasive multiflora rose. Make new friends and get some fresh air and exercise while helping nature and people in your community!
