How do I hike lighter, faster, stronger? Come find out in this highly interactive workshop with other Young Professional Group members!

PRIZES! The first 10 participants who sign in at the event will each receive a 1-year Pro membership to Additional prizes will be awarded to 3 lucky participants. Prizes include an ultralight Titanium combo cookset from TOAKS Outdoors!

To usher in the Young Professionals hiking season, we are delighted to have YP Volunteer and hiking expert Duncan Cheung lead a class at REI SoHo. Duncan is a fast-and-light backpacker who logs 750 trail miles a year (most of which are hiked along the Hudson Valley over weekends). He will cover trail-tested hiking and backpacking skills, practical guidance on gear selection, and winning itineraries for trips around NYC. Whether you’re an ambitious beginner looking for fun in the woods or a seasoned backpacker who wants to go ultralight, you’ll walk away with something trail-worthy!
