Join the Young Professionals for this incredibly rare opportunity to hike the primitive zone of the Ellenville Ice Caves, led by longtime guide and expert Rick Levine. Rick has been leading hikes in the area since the early 1990s. This area of The Nature Conservancy’s Sam’s Point Preserve is not open to the public, and is heavily regulated due to the ecological sensitivity of the area. On our ascent, we will pass through two of the three “Greater Ice Caves” where the last remnants of winter’s snow and ice usually last until July. On our descent, we’ll visit a bone fide “indoor” ice cave. Until late June you virtually slide-in to view the icicles, and extra layers and a flashlight are required. A ladder assists the descent for the brave hikers, and a spelunking exit is an optional challenge. As we will be rock scrambling and there is an elevation gain of about 1,500 feet, an advanced level of fitness is required.

PLEASE NOTE: Space is limited to 9 hikers on a first-come, first-served basis. To RSVP and for information on how to provide payment please email
