Volunteer Preserve Stewards

This position requires an average of 2-5 hours per month

Openings at various Eastern New York preserves -- Catskills, Hudson Valley and Capital District

Directions

Preserve Stewards volunteer to serve as caretakers for preserves throughout Eastern New York. This assistance is essential for the maintenance and care of over thirty preserves in the region. Stewards should enjoy interacting with the public, work with minimal supervision, like spending time working out-of-doors; be able to perform some strenuous tasks.
Typical duties include:

  • Trail Maintenance
  • Boundary Sign Posting
  • Litter Removal
  • Infrastructure Safety Reports
  • Other Site-Specific Duties As-Needed

An onsite orientation and ongoing support is provided for all volunteers.
