As the water warms, the bay is coming alive. Come help give a hand pulling in a 300’ haul seine and get a close up look at the creatures and plants that live under the sea! A haul can bring in striped bass, bluefish, porgies, fluke, flounder, and several species of crab. This demonstration of a traditional East End fishing method is appropriate for both children and adults; bring the whole family! A marshmallow roast will follow the haul. Insect repellent suggested.
This is a family-friendly event. All ages are welcome, with adults expected to accompany children. All programs: need pre-registration, are free to members or $5 for non-members (unless noted). For more information, call our office (631)749-1001 or email us at mashomackpreserve@tnc.org.
