The Nature Conservancy has a unique chapter structure in New York, which reflects its long history here and the fact that several of our first preserves were created in the State. The chapters are based in the Adirondacks, Long Island, Eastern New York, which roughly covers the area between Westchester and Saratoga counties, and Central and Western New York, a region extending from the shores of Lake Ontario to the Niagara Frontier. Central offices are located in Albany and New York City.
You can help us continue our tradition of long-term success in our New York chapters. Renew your commitment to support our global conservation work!
The Adirondack Nature Conservancy has protected over 556,500 acres since 1971.
The Central & Western Chapter covers 29 counties, nearly half the state of New York.
Since the 1950s, the Long Island chapter has preserved over 150,000 acres of land and water on Long Island.
Extending from the shores of Long Island Sound up to the Adirondack blue line, the Conservancy's first chartered chapter offers something for everyone!
