New Jersey is home to several spectacular landscapes that define who we are as a state. The Bayshores region of southern New Jersey is a relatively intact natural area acknowledged as one of the Earth’s most important stopovers for migratory birds. The Skylands of northern New Jersey are marked by sweeping vistas, dense forests, and sprawling farms. With large expanses of remarkably intact forest, the Kittatinny Ridge and Valley is dotted with freshwater wetlands, glacial bogs, pristine streams, ponds and lakes. Stretching across southern and central New Jersey are the iconic Pine Barrens, home to a surprising array of plants, animals and habitats.
These natural lands and waters also improve the quality of life for people and help fuel local economies. Help us show, through your photographs, the irreplaceable value of these special places.
