Osprey Banding Demonstration

June 29, 2013
10am to noon

PSEG’s Maurice River Township Restoration Site, Cumberland County

Directions

Learn about the successful network of nesting platforms installed at this site and throughout the state’s coastal waterways for osprey. The rebound of this amazing raptor has been tracked through nest monitoring and banding of chicks by The Nature Conservancy and other agencies. During this mid-summer trip with the Conservancy’s Stewardship Coordinator Damon Noe, visitors should enjoy views of osprey hunting over the marsh, along with sightings of other marsh birds. If the site’s shoreward nest platform supports s a successful brood, participants may even get an up close look at osprey chicks as they are banded. Please dress for the weather; bring binoculars if you have them.

To register for this trip please contact Diane Borowsky at 908-955-0356 or dborowsky@tnc.org.
