NH's class of 2010 LEAF interns: Yangstel, Cleo, Pamela and Gabby along with their mentor, Sara. The girls created a book, telling the tales of their time in the Granite State.
"New Hampshire Welcomes The Minions" by Cleo, Gabby, Pamela and Yanstel.
"Once upon a time in New Hampshire Sara Deville was cooking up another scheme with her eclectic little minions. She wished to destroy the state's natural ecosystem by polluting the land, water and air."
Once I've got New Hampshire wings, I'm going to take over the rest of New England."
"At the bottom of Black Cap Mt. the minions stood, carrying the tools to destroy - like Sara Deville told them they should."
"Black Cap Mountain"
"On their way up they met a man named Wink digging up the earth. He saw them getting ready to saw some trees and with a fluffy mustache and sky blue eyes he yelled out 'No, Stop FREEZE!'"
"No! Stop! FREEZE!"
"Wink: Come drop your tools and help me conserve nature and see the joy it brings that you can treasure. Gabby: Why do we want to conserve nature? I want to cut down trees. Wink: Because your group has been evil your whole lives, don't you want to set yourselves free?"
"Canoeing, horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming."
"Wink sends the minions to Dover to help them become environmentally literate - There they met Jacqueline (sic) and Joanne who teach them how to identify invasive species threatening their wildlife."
"Glossy Buckthorn: The veins in the back stick out. The veins point to the sides. Purple Loose Strife: The flowers are tall and purple. The stem feels like a box. The leaves are opposite to one another. Autumn Olive: The leaf's back side is shiny and silver. Common Barberry: Plant acquires several groups of spoon shaped leaves. Thorns are below those groups."
"The next day: Sara Deville comes to check up if the evil scheme is progressing and is surprised to see the minions taking care of nature instead of destroying it."
"Why is nature not destroyed yet?"
"Pamela: Well... I became more positive and active. I even learned how to swim. Cleo: I became more of a team player and aware of nature, I also learned how to kayak."
"Gabby: I also learned how to kayak! I became more connected with nature and I have grown to cherish it. Yanstel: I learned how to tread water and became more interested in wildlife and forestry."
"Sara Deville understood the importance of conserving nature and dedicated the rest of her life to protect and save the ENVIRONMENT."
