Evan Suhr is the Conservancy's new Land Management Technician, working at the Niobrara Valley Preserve.

Suhr gained experience at The Crane Trust as a habitat manager, and has a strong background with controlled burns.  He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.  "Evan grew up in Valentine, so his knowledge of the area combined with his education and experience made him a great fit," said Rich Walters, Niobrara Valley Preserve Program Director.

Suhr's job will include general land management duties on the 56,000-acre Preserve, and learning about its natural history from its experienced staff.  "The conservation goals of the Niobrara Valley Preserve are closely aligned with my personal and professional interests. I appreciate the biological diversity of north-central Nebraska and look forward to contributing to the habitat/land management of the Niobrara Valley in order to support The Nature Conservancy’s mission of conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends," said Suhr.about its natural history.
