Meet Our Team
This list of staff is a little bit misleading. That's because every year a stellar crew of seasonal employees and volunteers arrives to make magic happen at the ranch. There are wranglers who'll make sure you get paired with the perfect equine companion. You'll definitely want to "kiss the cook" when you savor the meals that our chefs and kitchen staff whip up every day. And where would any of us be without that small and often unseen troop of folks who make sure your bathroom glistens and your bed's ready for a restful night? You'll get to know and love them all when you visit!
Scott loves the outdoors and just about every activity that can be done in it. He’s worked in the guest business for years, from the small size bed and breakfast to a high end ski and ranch resorts. He’s taught rock climbing and rope rescue, as well as Alpine and Nordic skiing. On top of all that, he’s fluent in Japanese! In his spare time, Scott is most likely hiking, riding, biking, rafting, or spending time with his wife and four children in the outdoors.
Guest Services Manager
Guests will quickly become familiar with Yvonne's bright smile, although many have already met her on the phone. Yvonne handles behind the scenes tasks that keep the ranch running -- answering phones, taking reservations, and chatting with complete strangers (which she enjoys) who generally become guests. A native Californian, she's settled into Montana's outdoor life; wading streams in summer, cross country skiing in winter, and just leaning into the wind.
Herb is a native Montanan who brings a great many skills to Pine Butte. He’s owned a family grocery store as well as his own business with a territory covering all of Western Montana. Before joining The Nature Conservancy, he spent 5 years working as a maintenance technician at a guest resort. Herb lives in Choteau with his wife and enjoys showing the beautiful Rocky Mountain Front to his 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
