The Nature Conservancy in Missouri received a $100,000 grant from The Boeing Company to support conservation work in the Current River watershed in the Missouri Ozarks.

The watershed is a rich, biologically diverse region and is critically important from a conservation perspective. It is home to an impressive array of globally significant plants and animals, and is a major breeding habitat for migrating and nesting birds. Additionally, the watershed offers an abundance of economic and natural resources that are essential to local communities.

“As a responsible corporate citizen and neighbor, Boeing recognizes the serious challenges facing our ecosystem and has made a commitment to invest in community-based programs that protect and restore natural assets and habitat,” says George Roman, Vice President, Boeing State and Local Government Operations and St. Louis Regional Executive.

Boeing has invested nearly $400,000 to fund the Conservancy’s work in the Current River watershed.

With support from donors and partners, the Conservancy has protected more than 91,000 acres in the Missouri Ozarks by collaborating with private landowners to ensure sustainable land management.

The Nature Conservancy is a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. The Conservancy and its more than 1 million members have protected nearly 120 million acres worldwide. Visit The Nature Conservancy on the Web at www.nature.org.
