The Nature Conservancy in Missouri received $100,000 from Bass Pro Shops to support its Campaign for Conservation, pushing the total raised for the campaign to over $23 million. The campaign will fund anchor projects in Missouri, including native prairie restoration in the Grand River Grasslands and freshwater protection in the Ozarks.

Bass Pro Founder John L. Morris is an Honorary Campaign Chair for the Missouri effort, and is a well-known conservationist. His leadership gift through Bass Pro Shops is made in honor of fellow Honorary Chair Anita Gorman, an Emeritus Commissioner of the Missouri Conservation Commission. Mr. Jonathan Kemper, Dr. Peter Raven, and Mr. Howard Wood also serve as Honorary Chairs of the Missouri Campaign for Conservation, the largest conservation campaign to date in Missouri history.

Bass Pro has been a steadfast supporter of the Conservancy, hosting events throughout the campaign and investing in key conservation work in Missouri. A leader in outdoor retail products, Bass Pro is one of America’s premier retailers, serving over 75 million customers every year.

With support from donors and partners, the Conservancy has protected more than 145,000 acres of critical natural lands in Missouri since 1956.
