Faces of Conservation

An Enduring Legacy for Future Generations

Pat and Edward "Ted" Jones, Jr. wanted to leave a legacy for future generations.

Pat Jones and her late husband Edward “Ted” Jones, Jr. are well known across the state. The family business, St. Louis-based Edward Jones financial services, has been helping Missourians invest since the 1920s. But the couple’s most enduring legacy is their own investment in Missouri to preserve our natural treasures for future generations.

For over a decade now, Pat has been working with The Nature Conservancy as an avid supporter of our native prairie work. She was instrumental in Missouri’s purchase of Dunn Ranch preserve in 1999. Currently, Pat is a leadership supporter of the Conservancy’s work in the Ozarks and has made major gifts to fund Missouri’s large-scale conservation easement initiative in the Current River watershed. The goal is to protect 100,000 acres of the watershed lands to allow conservation-friendly timber harvest and recreational use, while securing the health of the Current’s rich, fragile landscape.

We salute Pat for the depth of her generosity and commitment to sustaining the health of the natural world. Her visionary leadership continues to drive conservation in Missouri. We are proud and fortunate to call her both a partner and a friend.
