Inside and Out

Whether you'd like to get your hands dirty (literally!) helping out in the field, or see yourself assisting in more behind-the-scenes efforts such as in an office setting, the Mississippi Chapter can utilize your skills and talents.  Some volunteer experiences are one-time events, while other individuals and groups provide consistent support such as weekly 'shifts.'

Some of our work is seasonal in nature, and most outdoor activities occur 'rain or shine.'

Minimum age for volunteers is 18.

Americorps/NCCC Team Assists Summer 2013

Eight Americorps/NCCC team members assisted Conservancy staff in a variety of tasks to improve habitats in southern Mississippi. They cleared pitcher plant bogs at Willie Farrell Brown and Old Fort Bayou preserves by removing overgrown native plant species, cut woody plants around Mike's Pond to allow Dusky Gopher Frogs to move more easily around the property, removed trash at Old Fort Bayou, and installed erosion control materials (including willow stakes) at Red Creek.

It is thanks to groups such as this that the Conservancy is able to maximize our efforts across the globe. Thanks to the team's dedication, even during the hottest of days!
