Statement on New Minnesota DNR Commissioner
The following is a statement from Peggy Ladner, Director of The Nature Conservancy in Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS, MN | January 06, 2011
The Nature Conservancy hires excellent people so we’re not surprised that Gov. Dayton would select Tom Landwehr, our assistant state director in Minnesota, to serve as Minnesota DNR Commissioner. Tom has been a tremendous leader in our efforts over the past seven years to help conserve Minnesota’s best lands and waters for everyone’s benefit. He’s also worked well with a wide range of partners and in representing The Nature Conservancy before the Minnesota Legislature. He’s an outstanding choice. We’ll miss him here but we know he’ll do a great job for Minnesota.
The Nature Conservancy is a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. The Conservancy and its more than 1 million members have protected nearly 120 million acres worldwide. Visit The Nature Conservancy on the Web at www.nature.org.
