Great Lakes Now: Connect Migratory Birds
May 06, 2014
Detroit Public Television
Great Lakes Now: Connect” is back this year, bringing you new topics along with an updated format as we dig deep into the science behind Great Lakes issues.
On Tuesday, May 6th, we will continue the year discussing migratory birds, a priceless part of our heritage. Our feathered friends are not only a delight to observe, classify and photograph, but they also serve as bellwethers of our natural and cultural health. Birds are indicators of the integrity of the environments that provide us with clean air and water, fertile soils and abundant wildlife. We have never seen a more urgent time than now to support migratory birds — for the protection of their future, as well as our own.
The show will air live online at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 6 at http://greatlakesnow.org and on Channel 56.2 in southeast Michigan at various times the following week.
