Staff Bio


Kari Marciniak

Director of Strategic Communications

Kari joined the Conservancy in October 2012, coming from her role as the coordinator of the Michigan Rural Council (MRC), a program of the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM).

A proud Spartan, Kari holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree in agricultural and natural resources communications, both from Michigan State University. She has worked for several statewide nonprofits in Michigan, providing communications and program management expertise including the Michigan Nonprofit Association and the Michigan Conference of the United Church of Christ. She also sits on the board of the MSU Alumni Club of Mid-Michigan. 

In her spare time, Kari enjoys reading, recreational softball and volleyball, watching any kind of sports, and spending quality time with her family.
