Boat Meadow Preserve

This preserve was recognized by the state as one of the highest quality salt marshes on Cape Cod.

Closed to the public, Boat Meadow is a classic New England salt marsh alongside a sandy, upland peninsula. It offers important habitat for the northern diamondback turtle.

Why the Conservancy Selected This Site
Boat Meadow has ecological value as a high quality saltmarsh and offers protection for the diamondback terrapin.

What the Conservancy Has Done/Is Doing
The Conservancy is working with the original donors to post the eroding portion of the marsh. The turtle population is monitored by Massachusetts Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary.
