Make your voice heard! Use the online form to register for Conservation Day.
Conservation Day is an incredible opportunity to show our elected officials that Hoosiers care about protecting our precious natural resources and preserving our environment. Meet your legislator at our reception and talk to them about how important conservation and preservation of our natural resources is to you. Prior to Conservation Day we will record a web-ex presentation with topics to be discussed with your legislator.
Remember, the more people that attend Conservation Day, the bigger the impact. Come for the whole day or just for your lunch hour. Carpool with co-workers, friends and family or take a brisk walk to the statehouse, and help make a difference!
As a reminder, the legislature has established new district maps for 2011-2020. You can find out if your district has shifted or your legislator has changed. It is recommended that you contact your legislator and let them know you will be attending. You can even set up a meeting place and time.
There will be refreshments for Conservation Day registrants and legislators. Dress code is business to business-casual.
12:30 p.m. – 12:50 p.m. - Registration (Indiana Government Center South Atrium)
1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. - Presentation on INCA 2013 Legislative Priorities (Auditorium of the Indiana Government Center). Hear about INCA’s legislative priorities, receive talking points and ask questions.
2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. – Reception – Statehouse North Atrium (NOTE: THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN IN YEARS PRIOR)
NOTE: You do not need to attend the entire day’s activities. Please feel free to drop by anytime during the day’s event. Many people come to the statehouse during their lunch hour. Please be sure to coordinate a time to meet your legislator while you are there. We encourage you to send him/her a message prior to your visit. Who is my legislator?
Security is the same as in past years and you do not need an admittance pass. You must enter through either the east or west entrances (the only public entrances) which have metal detectors. Due to increased attendance this year, please keep in mind the extra time it may take to get through security at the statehouse.
In the event of forecasted inclement weather the day of the event, please call (317) 829-3813 and we will leave a message by 3pm the day before the event. This will inform you as to any cancelations that might be planned.
The Indiana Conservation Alliance (INCA) is a state-wide network of nonprofit organizations providing a unified voice for the conservation and wise use of our natural resource to enhance our quality of life.
