Summer of Silver Creek
As part of the 35th anniversary season, the Conservancy is offering a full summer schedule of Silver Creek activities, including hikes, canoe floats and art classes.
Other activities, including fly tying classes, are planned for the summer but have yet to be scheduled. Phone (208)788-7910 for information on any activities.
Schedule
April 16, 9 am - Join us and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game as we plant shrubs in the burn area of the Picabo hills, overlooking Silver Creek. Bring a lunch, meet at the Picabo Store.
May 8, 8:30 am - Mother's Day! Early morning guided birding with visiting Audubon guide, Bernie Smith! Meet at the visitors center.
May 19, 6-9 pm - Evening birding with local expert Larry Barnes, meeting at the visitor center.
May 21 - Wood River Land Trust canoe float (contact WRLT for details, 208-788-3947).
May 26 - Picabo Hills hike for wildlife and wildflower viewing. This is a strenuous hike through rugged terrain (no trail). Bring lunch and water.
May 27 - Friends of Silver Creek canoe float (3 pm) and barbecue (5 pm). Have the opportunity to float the creek and scout it before opening day!
May 27 through August 26 - Sam Beebe photographic exhibition and vintage Silver Creek photo exhibit, The Community Library, Ketchum
May 28 - Opening day of trout season! Barbecue (12-3 pm, or until the food runs out) at the visitor center.
June 4 - Picabo Hills hike for wildlife and wildflower viewing with the Idaho Conservation League. This is a strenuous hike through rugged terrain (no trails). Bring lunch and water.
June 18, 2 pm - Father's Day eve canoe float. Please call to register.
June 30 - Silver Creek 35th Anniversary Party.
July 9, 2 pm - Canoe float with the Ketchum Heritage Museum. Please call to register.
July 14, 6-8 pm - Wine and watercolors on the porch of the visitor center. Learn techniques and talk about color over a glass of wine.
August 27, 2 pm - End of summer canoe float. Please call to register.
