Two Joie de Vivre Hotels Partner with The Nature Conservancy to Protect Hawaii’s Environment
Promotion Runs Through October 15, With Option to Renew
HONOLULU, HI | March 25, 2014
Joie de Vivre’s Coconut Waikiki Hotel and Shoreline Hotel Waikiki have chosen The Nature Conservancy of Hawai‘i as their featured charity as part of JDV Gives, a company-wide philanthropic effort to give back to the communities in which Joie de Vivre’s hotels are located.
Guests staying at either of Joie de Vivre’s two Waikiki properties will be given the opportunity to help protect Hawaii’s environment by making a small donation to The Nature Conservancy with Joie de Vivre’s You Can Make a Difference program.
The program asks guests to donate $1 a night for the length of their stay, although they can opt out of the donation at checkout. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go directly to The Nature Conservancy.
“The Nature Conservancy would like to thank Joie de Vivre Hotels for its generous support of our work,” said Suzanne Case, the Conservancy’s Hawaiʻi executive director. “Businesses like Joie de Vivre are invaluable partners because they recognize the importance of the environment to Hawaii’s visitor industry. Their vision and commitment helps us protect the lands and waters that sustain Hawaii’s people, economy and island way of life.”
Joie de Vivre donates around $1.5 million annually to local organizations in the form of gift certificates, cash donations, in-kind donations and events.
“Joie de Vivre has always been invested and involved in the communities in which our hotels are located,” said Alvida Surpia-Jones, General Manager of Coconut Waikiki Hotel & Shoreline Hotel Waikiki. “We understand the contribution that Hawaii’s environment makes to the state’s economy and quality of life. That’s why we are proud to partner with The Nature Conservancy. Their work to protect Hawaii’s environment benefits future generations of residents and visitors alike.”
The two Joie de Vivre Waikiki hotels’ philanthropic program with The Nature Conservancy runs through October 15, 2014, with an option to renew.
