Go Wild With Native Gardening

Español

Native gardening is good for our air, our water, wildlife and us! Once established, native plants save time and money by reducing the need for fertilizers, pesticides, water and lawn maintenance equipment.

Gardening with natives is also easy to do, no matter where you live. In this feature, we provide an easy plant finder tool to help you get started and videos in which gardeners share how they've used native plants to reduce storm water runoff, attract wildlife and much more.

Come back each month to find new information about attractive native alternatives to non-native plants, container gardening made easy and an interactive map showing Nature Conservancy preserves where you can see these plants in the wild.

Special thanks to Wild Ones for sharing their knowledge of native plants to assist in the creation of our Native Plant Finder.
