Vote for your favorite green restaurant and earn a chance to have dinner on us!

Boulder | October 01, 2013

The Nature Conservancy today announced the top five finalists in Colorado for the second annual Nature’s Plate Contest. Over the past month, people across the country have been nominating their favorite green restaurants. This year’s finalists come from five different cities demonstrating sustainability is important to people across the state. The restaurants with the most nominations are now finalists. The finalist round of voting is open now until October 15. The winner will be announced on October 17.

The finalists for Colorado are:

Vote at nature.org/naturesplateCO. When you cast your vote for your favorite green restaurant in the competition, you’ll be entered into a drawing for $100 gift card to the winning restaurant.

Nature’s Plate is a people’s choice contest for each area’s top green restaurant. Whether you're a vegan, vegetarian or a meat-eater, it's a good bet the healthiest and tastiest food on your table came from nature. From the oysters growing out in Cape Cod to the tomatoes soaking up the sun at the farm down the road, healthy food demands a healthy planet. And our planet is nurtured when food production is sustainable.

You can make a difference by voting for your favorite green restaurant for a Nature's Plate award. Wondering which restaurants to vote for? Consider eateries that are using sustainable seafood, free-range and grass-fed meat, organic produce, locally sourced food, and tap water (rather than bottled water).

While the contest is focused on restaurants, it’s only the start of a conversation about food, conservation and The Nature Conservancy’s work with farmers, fishermen and ranchers. Learn more about what makes a restaurant green

Voting for the finalists begins today, October 1, and the winner(s) will be announced October 17.
