Cabo Pulmo, Baja California

The small coastal town of Cabo Pulmo situated in the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico, along the Sea of Cortez in the Gulf of California. Cabo Pulmo is the setting-off point for visitors to the Cabo Pulmo National Park, a marine protected area known for whale watching, kayaking and snorkeling tours. Though the marine park is protrected much of the surrounding coast is not and lives under the threat of massive development which could threaten the marine habitat. The Nature Conservancy is working with local conservation organizations and government to find sustainable solutions to protect the fragile mediterranean environment.
