The Nature Conservancy commends Senator Nelson for introducing the Comprehensive Gulf of Mexico Recovery, Restoration, and Resiliency bill in support of returning Clean Water Act fines to the Gulf of Mexico. As we mark the first anniversary of the spill, the engagement and support of lawmakers like Senator Nelson will be crucial to protecting and restoring the Gulf – an important environmental and economic resource for the entire country. In support of the 24 million people who live along the Gulf Coast, the Conservancy looks forward to working with Senator Nelson and other members of Congress to protect and restore the region’s abundance.
