Australia has an unusually rich array of lands and waters that shape our national identity, provide a home for plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth and attract visitors from around the globe.
These natural areas are the basis for farms, fisheries and forests. They provide us with clean air and water, and they form the basic foundation of our cities and towns. The health of our environment is crucial to the strength of our economy.
But Australia's natural assets are increasingly at risk. Threats such as unsustainable water use, invasive species and climate change are affecting our quality of life and harming our communities.
In 2007, the Conservancy established a Corporate Conservation Council to forge a closer alliance between business and conservation. Current members of the council include some of Australia's leading businesses, from national banks to industrial corporations, investment houses and commercial companies.
Annual membership in the Corporate Conservation Council provides businesses with connections to cutting-edge conservation initiatives in Australia and around the world. Benefits include: recognition on the Conservancy's website; connections with global businesses and civic leaders; annual meetings at conservation project sites with guided field trips; and subscriptions to the Conservancy's publications.
The decisions we make today will determine the future for our lands, waters and way of life. Your company can help us conserve Australia’s future.
A growing number of diverse Australian businesses are seeing the benefit and importance of saving our special natural areas before it's too late. We are deeply grateful for the commitment of these companies and would like to acknowledge them as current members of the Corporate Conservation Council.
The Conservancy works with conservation-minded businesses around the world to protect Earth's biodiversity. Learn about the many ways we partner with companies who want to make a difference for their communities and our planet.
The Conservancy's strong performance is recognized by Charity Navigator as exceeding or meeting industry standards.
