Food Security in Latin America

Food production in Latin America has increased due to worldwide demand. This situation represents an opportunity for the region, but Latin America will have to become a leader in sustainable food production while protecting its vital forests, grasslands and marine areas.

The Council will engage in efforts by organizations that are specialized in agricultural, ranching and fisheries productivity to increase food production while protecting Latin America's unique natural systems.
