We're a leading international, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the diversity of life on Earth. Like you, we care about plants, animals and the habitats they need to survive. We work closely with partners, corporations, indigenous people and traditional communities all over the world, as well as people just like you.

We have a smart approach to conservation. Rather than confronting, we collaborate. We utilize innovative tools to protect, restore and manage magnificent places sensibly, and with the greatest benefit to people and nature. We’ve helped protect over 117 million acres and more than 5,000 miles of rivers in 28 countries.

We know you love nature – so do we! There's many ways that you can explore the great outdoors:

• Visit a local preserve near you. There are more than 1,400 Nature Conservancy nature preserves around the United States. No matter what season of the year or where you're going for vacation, there's bound to be a preserve nearby.
• Take action against global warming. Power plants, deforestration and even the smallest and most efficient automobiles release emissions that cause global warming. You can make a difference by doing simple things like using energy-saving light bulbs, driving less or supporting the Conservancy's work to combat climate change.
