Zumwalt Prairie Preserve, Oregon

Businesses are powerful agents for change, and leading corporations know that improving their sustainability has a positive impact on their bottom line. The Conservancy works with corporations to help them take direct measures to protect habitat and/or improve their practices to minimize the impact their business has on the environment. For more information, please contact corporate_partnerships@tnc.org.

Recent examples:

  • Bank of America encouraged 4 million of its customers to switch from paper statements to electronic statements through its “Go Paperless” program, which reduced the company’s use of paper and supported the Conservancy’s forest conservation work.
  • As part of its commitment to end purchases of wood from endangered forests worldwide, Home Depot is funding the development of a system to identify and track legally logged timber coming out of East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
  • Office Depot is using its position as the world’s leading reseller of paper to give preference to paper supplies that practice sustainable forestry.
