Brief Biography
Scott Smith coordinates international partnerships and policy issues related to marine conservation at The Nature Conservancy.  A focus of these activities has been working with governments and other NGO partners to expand and strengthen networks of marine protected areas.  Scott previously served as Director of Conservation Finance and Policy for the Conservancy’s Asia and Pacific programs.  Prior to joining TNC in 2000, he worked at the Global Environment Facility (GEF) from 1997-2000 and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) from 1974-1996.
