The largest international meeting about water — The World Water Forum — takes place the week of March 16 in Istanbul, Turkey. And The Nature Conservancy will be there, bringing its unique expertise and experience in freshwater issues.

Experts predict over half of the world’s population will face water shortages within the next 50 years — which means solutions for conserving and managing global freshwater resources need to be developed fast.

The World Water Forum is an important opportunity to shape the global debate on how water is managed. We're sharing innovative ideas and strategies such as:

We’re also helping to shape the forum by coordinating and leading discussions on how we can manage and protect water resources to meet human and environmental needs.

The Conservancy hopes that governments, NGOs, the private sector and communities can work together to achieve a more sustainable and socially responsible path for how we manage our shared water resources.
