The Conservancy and its partners organize, sponsor or participate in numerous conferences, workshops and other training opportunities for freshwater stakeholders.

Rivers for Life
Leading water experts Sandra Postel and Brian Richter explain why restoring and preserving more natural river flows are key to sustaining freshwater biodiversity and healthy river systems, and describe innovative policies, scientific approaches, and management reforms for achieving those goals.

Practitioner's Guide to Freshwater Biodiversity Conservation
Conserving freshwater biodiversity presents unique challenges for conservation practitioners. Meeting these challenges requires understanding how freshwater ecosystems are formed and how they function. It requires identifying the best strategies to pursue in the face of existing threats to freshwater ecosystems and identified conservation targets.

Managine Freshwater Inflows to Estuaries - A Methods Guide
The management of freshwater and the management of estuaries have in most countries evolved as independent programs that operate with distinct mandates, authorities, policies and institutional structures. This guide addresses the need to better integrate river and catchment (watershed) management with estuary management by combining important features of integrated coastal management (ICM) with integrated water resources management (IWRM). The Methods Guide is published by USAID, The Nature Conservancy and The Coastal Resource Center at The University of Rhode Island.

Journal Articles and Papers
The staff of the Global Freshwater Team collaborate with their peers across the conservation community on a range of papers, articles and case studies. Also posted here are articles by partner organizations, scientists and others.

Flow—the Essentials of Environmental Flows
This guide from the IUCN Water and Nature Initiative offers practical advice for the implementation of environmental flows in the river basins of the world. It explains how to assess flow requirements, change the legal and financial framework, and involve stakeholders in negotiations. The publication can be purchased in book form or downloaded in PDF file form.

A Journey in the History of Water
This video tells the story of how the struggle for fresh water has shaped human society. This series brings the viewer to about 20 countries all over the world. This video is based on the television series "History of Water" which won the Grand Prix on 17th International Environment Film Festival.

Watershed Valuation as a Tool for Biodiversity Conservation
