Conservancy, Corps Develop New Software

The Nature Conservancy and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrological Engineering Center (HEC) have collaborated on the development of a new software program that will support the development of environmental flow recommendations while users are in a workshop setting.

The Regime Prescription Tool (HEC-RPT) is a visualization tool that is designed to complement existing software packages by facilitating entry, viewing and documentation of flow recommendations in real-time, public settings.

The software was developed in support of the Sustainable Rivers Project, a national partnership between the Corps and the Conservancy to improve the health of rivers by changing the operations of Corps dams.
