The Nature Conservancy, Gillette and the UN Foundation are providing $750,000 to conserve freshwater, marine and coastal resources in and around Mexico's Sian Ka'an World Heritage/Ramsar site, a wetland of vital importance located just south of Cancun.

Sian Ka'an, which in Maya translates as "where the sky is born" is a biosphere reserve covering 1.6 million acres of coastal wetland.  The reserve provides refuge for thousands of species of plants and animals and helps to protect pristine coral formations off the coast of Mexico.
