Description
This 5.98 acre parcel abuts TNC's Cherry Valley Preserve and includes 4 acres of critical wetland habitat. Cherry Valley is a scenic stream valley at the northern base of the Kittatinny Ridge in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. There is a charming farmhouse on the property with a beautiful deck allowing expansive views of the valley and surrounding ridges with a small pond in the backyard.

Primary Conservation Objective
Cherry Valley provides critical wetland, forest and meadow habitat and is a major flyway for migratory birds and raptors. TNC has protected over 700 acres in this discrete valley and continues to work with landowners to protect additional wetland habitat through acquisition, conservation easements and education.

Biodiversity Highlights
The scenic Cherry Valley, dotted with farms and historic homes, boasts wetland, meadow, and forest habitats and hosts a large array of species including unique groundwater fed fens species. In addition, Cherry Creek runs through the valley, which is enclosed by Godfrey Ridge and Blue Mountain. The Valley and its ridges are a major fly-way for raptors and many bird species.

Qualifications and Restrictions
Restrictions are over 5 of the 6 acres. There are no restrictions on the house or the one acre area surrounding the house. Restrictions on back 5 acres include: no buildings, no subdivision, no alteration of habitat. The easement allows for active management of habitat by TNC.
