The property is or will be encumbered by a conservation easement as described below.

Description
The 685 acre farm has 150 acres of tillable land with the balance being grazing or grassland. The tillable area is level to slightly sloping with productive soils. There are several ponds on the property and additional ponds may be constructed. State route U divides the tract and provides good accessibility. A WHIP contract was recently completed of the east art of the tract for tree removal.

Primary Conservation Objective
This key area within the Grand River Grasslands will be used to expand the native plant life, provide essential grassland bird habitat for several threatened species, and improve soil and water conservation.

Biodiversity Highlights
The property has over 40 native prairie plants. The site is within the zone of influence of an existing Greater Prairie Chicken Lek and will be a key element in the establishment of a native plant habitat for upland birds.

Qualifications and Restrictions
The property will be protected by a conservation easement.
