Price
$3,637,500.00

Description
This 3031 acre tract consists of undeveloped, forested land near Red Creek in northern Jackson County, Mississippi. The land, which is ideal for hunting and fishing, is adjacent to Red Creek Wildlife Management Area.

Primary Conservation Objective
TNC will conduct stream, wetland and upland restoration on the tract for the next five to six years. Once restoration activities are complete, TNC will continue to conduct prescribed burns on the property, and the property will be managed according to a Natural Resources Management Plan.

Biodiversity Highlights
This tract lies near Red Creek, a tributary of the Pascagoula River, which is the largest--by volume-unaltered main stem river system in the continental U.S. The Pascagoula River Basin is a high priority landscape-scale site for The Nature Conservancy and is home to such species as the Gulf Sturgeon, Swallow-tail kites and the endemic Yellow-blotched map turtle.

Qualifications and Restrictions
A conservation easement will limit development, timbering, camp size, road and trail development, commercial use and pesticide / herbicide use. All management activities will be conducted according to a Natural Resources Management Plan.
