Description
Well stocked undeveloped timberland in southwestern Maine consisting primarily of a mix of deciduous and coniferous species including white pine, spruce/fir, red oak, maple and birch. There are three non-contiguous tracts with good access totalling 498 acres. Land will be subject to a working forest conservation easement.

Primary Conservation Objective
The Nature Conservancy conservation goals for these forested lands in western Maine is to protect the unfragmented forested lands from development and maintain sustainable working forest.

Biodiversity Highlights
These lands are typical unfragmented forested lands in southwestern Maine consisting of a mixture of hardwoods and softwoods.

Qualifications and Restrictions
A conservation easement will be conveyed to the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine (SWOAM). The primary goal of the easement is to "provide for continuing harvest of forest products while maintaining a healthy and ecologically diverse forest and to protect the open space, natural habitat and ecological features and values of the property." The easement will prohibit structure and subdivision and require a 10-year forest management plan executed based on third party certification standards. Public use of the land may be restricted.
